It’s a short month but the end of February has certainly rolled around quickly!
Here’s a round-up of my five favourites this month.
TV series: Reign
This one might have been around for a few years – the cast are currently filming Season Four – but Seasons One and Two are on Netflix and it’s a great watch. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a historical drama (very) loosely based on the life of Mary, Queen of Scots.
While the series takes a lot of historical liberties, the actors are fantastic and really throw themselves into their roles, especially Adelaide Kane (above centre, Queen Mary) and Megan Follows (above right, Queen Catherine de Medici). Ashford Castle in Ireland also regularly features as a filming location.
Book: The World of the Happy Pear
Twins David and Stephen Flynn run The Happy Pear, a health food shop and café in Greystones. They’ve since expanded to a nationwide franchise and have had massive success with it. Their latest book, The World of the Happy Pear, follows this vein, with over 100 healthy recipes to make. I’ve been a vegetarian for nearly 20 years so the book had plenty of options.
Exercise: Going for a walk
I’ve been enjoying going to visit places I haven’t been to before and taking in the fresh air. I’m often at my desk so when I get the chance I love heading out for a stroll and it really helps me to get focused when it comes to writing. As spring creeps in and we get more hours of sunshine in the evenings, it’s the perfect time to stretch the legs.
Make-up: Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has a fantastic selection of brown shades, from light nude pinks to glittery golds. The heavily pigmented colour makes it long-lasting and easy to blend. The eye brush that comes with it has two sides so you can choose exactly how much coverage you want.
Styling: Babyliss thermo ceramic rollers
These heated rollers are the quickest and sleekest way of getting curly hair in minutes. You get 20 rollers in a variety of sizes. They take no time at all to put on and you can leave them pinned in for as long as you like for great definition.
