It’s the end of January already! So here’s a round-up of five of my favourites this month.
Notebook: Paperblank Embellished Manuscript, Monet (Water Lillies)
I find having separate notebooks for work, my own writing, and blogging ideas helpful because it means I can refer back to each project easily and everything’s more clearly laid out. As a graduate of a creative writing degree, I love having a decorative Paperblank notebook to expand on ideas and jot down scenes.

This Monet one is one of a few I have (I can’t resist buying them). It has a lovely blue and gold cover with no lines inside – you can get them lined, or in a diary version. They don’t come cheap but I’ve had mine for a while and get a lot of use out of it.
I took up one-on-one boxfit classes with a personal trainer towards the end of last year, and I really enjoyed it. You can also do it with a group but I find that individually it’s more tailored towards your ability. It’s a fun way to exercise, a good overall workout, and empowering. If it’s good enough for Emma Watson, it’s good enough for me! 🙂

Make-up: Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation
This foundation is the best I’ve ever tried. It has a lovely sheen but isn’t heavy, has plenty of coverage and lasts really well each day. I was accustomed to MAC foundation but had heard positive reviews for this one, so I gave it a try and I love it. It’s a closer match to my skin tone and has SPF 15, antioxidant Vitamin C and plenty of moisture.
Perfume: Elizabeth Arden, 5th Avenue
It’s got a light, floral scent with notes of violet, jasmine and vanilla. I had a larger version before; for Christmas I got a mini-set and it fits perfectly into my little make-up bag. The packaging is lovely and you’re ready to go with a quick spritz.
Restaurant: Bill’s, London
This restaurant chain is one of my favourites to go to in London. They have branches all across the city so there’s always one nearby – a handy stroll away if you’re going to a show in Covent Garden. The main reason I like it is that I’ve been a vegetarian for nearly 20 years (!) and it’s often tricky to find a place that has both a variety of options as well as delicious food. Bill’s has both in spades. So when are they coming to Ireland? 🙂
That’s my round-up for this month. What have you been enjoying? Have you tried any of the ones I’ve mentioned? Let me know in the comments.
